New york

New York was named New York 350 years ago. Before that it was called New Amsterdam. It was settled in 1624 by Dutch traders. The top picture is drawing from the middle of 19th century. We can see the Brooklyn bridge to the east. It was a new bridge at the time of this drawing.

The bottom drawing was completed in 1985. The artist claims that every window and every door is represented. It took 20 years to finish the drawing. Holy cow.
